Only a few weeks now separate us from the 24 Hours of Spa where Bruno Spengler will share the wheel of a BMW Z4 GT3 with Alex Zanardi and Timo Glock. In order to try out developments to the car in preparation for this exceptional human and technological challenge, Spengler took part in two testing days at the Adria circuit in Italy.

Bruno had his first taste of a 24 hour event at Daytona in January where he took second place in GTLM category together with Bill Auberlen, Dirk Werner and Augusto Farfus in a BMW Z4 GTE run by BMW team RLL, and he is eager to repeat the experience at the famous Belgian race track.

The “Dream Team” took to the track on Thursday and Friday last week and the three drivers are competing in the Blancpain Endurance Series event at Le Castellet this weekend in order to prepare them for the 24 Hours of Spa in July.

“I really enjoyed being back at the wheel of the BMW Z4 GT3 and the roll out was an important test for us. Driving the car on a circuit is very different from working with it in the workshop. We learnt a lot about the modifications made to the car and how to further optimize them. “

“We also fine-tuned the seating position. My enthusiasm for this project grows a bit more every day. It really is something special. It was great to work together on track and I cannot wait to be back in the car this weekend. I am so happy to be a part of this project, I feel like a little child. It is such an honor for me to have Alex as a team mate, he is a role model for us all and he is such a lovely man. Timo is also my team mate in the DTM at BMW MTEK so I know him very well. I am very excited to be part of this team!”
