Following his first podium of the season in Moscow, Spengler hopes to continue in the same vein at the Nurburgring for the 7th round of the DTM championship this weekend. He has always been strong at this track, where he won three times and finished on the podium more often than none.

Three weeks ago at Moscow Raceway, Bruno finished the Sunday race in third position, proof that if he qualifies well, he will have no problem capitalizing on his qualifying performance during the race. The Canadian driver is very motivated and intends to be at the top end of the field in qualifying as well as in racing.

The Québécois driver won three times in the Eifel (2006, 2010 and 2012), in the wet and in the dry, and finished second in 2007 and 2011 and third in last year’s Race 2. He would probably have finished well in the points last year on the Saturday as well, if he had not been taken out by Mortara’s Audi, which forced him to retire the car.

“The Nürburgring really is a unique circuit. The atmosphere is very special and the fans are very enthusiastic. Of course the weather plays a big part, as you never know what it is going to be like. In the past we have had some good results on this circuit, so I am really looking forward to the weekend.”
