Last weekend saw the qualifying race that will determine the drivers’ grid of the Nürburgring 24 Hours scheduled for May 27-28.
Despite much hard work with the Schubert Motorsport BWM M6 GT3 #20, Bruno Spengler and his co-drivers Jörg Müller, Jesse Krohn and Kuno Wittmer did not get to reap the fruits of their labour on the mythical Eifel track.

A difficult qualifying session saw the #20 reach only the 16th row of the grid, however the team managed a phenomenal recovery during the race to find themselves on the 6th row. Unfortunately, an engine problem would not allow the BMW M6 GT3 to finish the race and the team had to make do with the data collected up to this point.

“Of course, it’s disappointing, especially when we were getting close to the car in 5th position, who ended up winning the race. Nevertheless, it was a good weekend until then so we’ll look at the positives. We did a lot of work on the car and it is behaving a lot better than when it first got out on track in the First VLN race in March.”

“Now I cannot wait to take part in the Nürburgring 24 Hours. It is my first time doing it and I’m very excited to face this new challenge in my career.”
